This website is dedicated to Geographic Information System projects that illustrate important books of non-fiction. Imagine reading James McClintock’s Lost Antarctica while following those unique landscapes along on Google Earth. The ability to pinpoint and view specific locations discussed in works of non-fiction brings a new level of understanding to the text.
Google Earth is the initial GIS platform used. Google Earth folders (.kmz files) will be listed by book chapter. Google Earth is a free geospacial software application anyone can download to their personal computer. Check out our user guide page for a step by step instructions to get started!
